DrFirst has identified a potential issue in the Rcopia e-prescribing system that may affect how the Maximum Daily Dose (MDD) is recorded on controlled substance prescriptions in New York. In some cases, the system may default to a prepopulated MDD value that doesn't reflect the prescriber’s specific dosing instructions—potentially resulting in a prescription that indicates a higher daily dose than intended.
